I strive to display different things in my work; emotions, beauty and sensuality. I found art nudes to be the most challenging and very difficult to do well. Anyone can take a photo of a nude woman, just point and shoot. Art nude is the composition, the lighting and how it plays on the human form, the emotions and sensuality portrayed and of course, the model.
The best images are created with the combined collaboration, synergy and artistic vision of both the photographer and the model. I always value the ideas and the creative input of the models I work with - that is what a collaboration is all about. I find inspiration everywhere, most of the time the model herself inspires me.
My art nudes are either homogeneous or heterogeneous. I want the model to either merge with or diverge from the environment – harmony/discord – compliment/contrast - yin/yang - it all depends on what I want to say. A lot of my work is experimental – lighting, posing and technique. To me, that is where the real excitement is, constantly learning and improving.
